Adventures in String Art

It’s been a busy summer! Between catching up with friends and family and work, I’ve barely had a chance to do any fun design related projects. I finally had a quiet Wednesday night and decided to try my hand at string art. While I may not have actually designed the string art itself – I cheated and bought this kit from, wait for it…Dollarama – I still had fun playing with the different colour string to create a whimsical cloud to accessorize my bathroom. I don’t have a window, so this lovely little piece of artwork brings the outside in and adds to the ambiance (I’m really trying to make it feel as much like a spa as possible!). I started with the white string to build the base of the cloud. Most clouds look white, right?! And then added the lovely pale blue to help give it a pop of colour. I enjoyed mindlessly wrapping the strong around the nails while watching old episodes of The Office. Has anyone else watched The Garden Party episode? Hilarious! It helped relieve some of the stress of everyday life. Here’s a look into my adventures in string art!
